Champagne velvet.
Style Edit: Plot194 features the Malini champagne velvet rectangle cushion, a feather filled cushion in neutral velvet with self coloured piping.
This style edit centres on a single finishing touch: the Malini champagne velvet rectangle cushion. Malini is a premium soft furnishing brand, and this rectangular cushion is made from a neutral champagne velvet with self coloured piping and a premium feather filling. At 30cm tall, it sits neatly in front of larger square cushions without hiding them.
Rectangle cushions are a simple way to finish sofa styling or dress a bed. Try one centred on a sofa between two square velvet cushions, or place it in front of the pillows on a double or king size bed. Champagne velvet sits comfortably alongside cream, ivory, mushroom and soft grey tones, and it picks up gold and brass accents elsewhere in a room.
The cushion is dry clean only, so it is best kept for styling rather than everyday lounging. To build the look further, browse more cushions, throws and soft furnishings.
A guide to our style edit: plot194
How to style a rectangle cushion
Rectangle cushions work best as the front layer. On a sofa, place two larger square cushions at each end and let the champagne rectangle sit in the centre, or use one on an accent chair on its own. On a bed, stand pillows upright, add a pair of square cushions and finish with the rectangle at the front. Keep the palette tight, with champagne, cream and one deeper neutral, so the velvet sheen and self coloured piping stand out. A cream throw folded over the arm completes the look.
